Do ceramic coatings contain PTFE, PFOA or PFAS?
Since the 2000s, ceramic coatings have become a popular alternative to classic non-stick coatings. However, the question repeatedly arises as to whether ceramic coatings contain substances such as PTFE, PFAS or PFOA.
Ceramic coating = no PTFE / no PFAS and no PFOA
Ceramic coatings are chemically completely different from classic non-stick coatings, which are based on PTFE. It is therefore also clear that ceramic coatings do not contain PTFE. As PTFE itself belongs to the group of PFAS substances, it is therefore also clear that ceramic coatings are PFAS-free.
And PFOA, an auxiliary substance used in the manufacture of PTFE, has been largely banned from production for years. This means that PFOA has never played a role in ceramic coatings, which are PTFE-free anyway.
