Is cast aluminum heavy?
First the question "What is cast aluminum?" Cast aluminum is cast aluminum.
Not all castings are the same
Aluminum is a light metal, much lighter than iron, for example. A 1x1x1 cm cube of aluminum weighs about 3 grams. An iron cube of the same size weighs almost 8 grams.
Cookware made of cast aluminum (i.e. cast aluminum) is therefore in principle much lighter than that made of cast iron (i.e. cast iron).
However, a very solid cast aluminum pan, for example, can still be heavier than a thin carbon steel pan. This depends entirely on the thickness of the material.
Our product descriptions therefore always include weight information so that you can check in advance how heavy/light a pot or pan really is by comparing it with existing cookware.
